Rodents use down spouts like a ladder to the roof where they can then find entry points into the structure. Commonly, rodents can enter the structure through roof ridge vents and compromised soffit, and they only need an opening the size of a quarter to enter. Hence, identifying entry points is a high priority. Homeowners may be required to make certain preps, such as cutting back trees and eliminating food sources such as bird feeders and outside pet food.
